Watching your child struggle or struggling yourself in school can be frustrating and heartbreaking. We provide consultation services for parents seeking to help their children succeed in school and individuals seeking to succeed in college or a vocation. Our background in school psychology, psychological assessment, and outpatient therapy means we clearly understand the way in which schools operate, know best practices for determining your child’s needs, and can tailor recommendations to fit both school and home settings. Consultation services include:
- Helping you understand your rights as a parent in the school system
- Explaining the in’s and out’s of accommodations, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and 504s
- Teaching you how to work with the school system to meet the needs of your child
- Communicating with school teachers, administrators, and counselors about your child’s needs
- Attending school meetings with you to help you advocate for your child’s needs
- Providing on-site observations of your child’s behavior and classroom setting at school.
The standard fees for educational consultation services are $125 for each 50-minute consultation hour, $75 for each consultation half hour, and $125 for each hour of services provided outside the office such as attending school meetings. Fees for letters, review of materials, and phone calls may be charged on a prorated basis according to the time required for these services.
